Groot formaat koffietafelboek. In opdracht van Puma reisden filmmaker en fotograaf Dosunmu en schrijver Robinson over het Afrikaanse continent om vast te leggen hoe de Afrikanen het voetbal beleven. Foto's van straat- en strandvoetballers maar ook van sterren als Drogba, Eto'o en Koné; van supporters en mensen wandelend op straat in een voetbalshirt; van stadions tijdens de African Cup of Nations en mannen achter een tafelvoetbalspel. De ENVB-medewerker Verre Landen werd stiekem verliefd op de telefonerende vrouw in Cameroon-shirt, maar dit geheel en al terzijde.
Het boek bevat vooral heel veel foto's en een paar pagina's tekst. De foto's, waar nergens begeleidende tekst onder of naast staan, vertellen het verhaal van ‘The African Game’. Boek is gesponsord door Puma en steunt goede doelen als united-for-africa.org en grassrootsoccer.org en is dusdanig mooi en luxe uitgevoerd dat het niet misstaat in een elitaire kunstboekhandel. Maar het gaat eerst en vooral over voetbal.
